<p>Thanks to all of you people who make these awesome modules and plugins  </p>
<p>I am a newbie to joomla and this forum and have now run into what seems to be (for me) serious trouble, using the CssJsCompress plugin. I really hope someone can help me, Please!</p>

<p>I have worked a few days with trying to setup a company site at www.nilsence.com, learing how to use Joomla! and VirtueMart together.</p>
<p>I use Joomla! version 1.5.18 and VirtueMart version 1.1.4, as well as CssJsCompress version 3.5. I have installed numerous components modules and plugins, and it has worked perfectly, until this one.</p>
<p>CssJsCompress seemed like a very good idea, but when I installed it and enabled it, I cold not load my site due to the following fatal error:</p>
<p><strong>Fatal error: Cannot redeclare editorarea() (previously declared in /hermes/…/public_html/joomla_root/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/compat.joomla1.5.php:104) in /hermes/bosweb/web135/b1350/ipw.knutnilsen/public_html/joomla_root/plugins/system/legacy/functions.php on line 595</strong></p>

<p>I then tried to disable the system – Legacy plugin, which resulted in the website in loading fine, puuhhh…. BUT, then I found that all links to products on my VirtueMart generated the following fatal error:</p>
<p><strong>Fatal error: Call to a member function getUserStateFromRequest() on a non-object in /hermes/…/public_html/joomla_root/components/com_virtuemart/virtuemart.php on line 31</strong></p>

<p>When I enables “debug system” under Global Configuration > System, a 500 error appeared in stead of the last fatal error above:</p>
<p><strong>500 - JDatabaseMySQL::query: 1146 - Table 'nilsence_database.jos_k2_items' doesn't exist SQL=SHOW COLUMNS FROM jos_k2_items</strong></p>
<p>I checked the MySQL database and it is true that there is not <strong>jos_k2_items</strong> table in the database. Don’t know why something is trying to access a non existing table, but the important thing is that this was no problem before enabling the CssJsCompress. If it is not caused by this pluging, then why dit it occur only after enabling it? What does the compression plugin do to change behaviour of the site like this?</p>

<p>My host is iPower.com which uses an Apache server that has zlib. They use PHPSUSExec and all files on my site has permissions 644, while all folders have permissions 755. This is the default, I have not done anything with it, and the 500 error above did not appear before enabling the CssJsCompress, so there should not be anything wrong with the permissions… Agree?</p>
<p>Also, the MySQL entry “System – CssJsCompress” under table “jos_plugins”, nor the CssJsCompress files were deleted on the server after uninstalling the plugin. And, even after deleting the MySQL entry and files the fatal error still was there.</p>
<p>Even after uninstalling this plugin the error persists… Should all of this this not imply that the CssJsCompress plugin did something to the system? Maybe change something in the MySQL database?</p>
<p>I also did a rough check if any files on the server had changed from the original Joomla! and VirtueMart files, but could not find any obvious related changes. So, where are the files that are generated stored? And, is there for example a pointer to the sites *.css and *.js files that have been changed somewhere in the database (from the multiple old .js and .css files to the combined file)? And if so, is it possible to reset these pointers? (if relevant, maybe it would be an idea to store original pointers to enable a restore function to the state the system had before enabling CssJsCompress?)</p>
<p>I also read on this forum that the sequence of the plugins have an importance… Why?</p>
<p>If it is relevant, all VirtueMart tables in the database start with “jos_vm_” (also read on this forum something about possible errors when database tables are named other than “jos_”, but don’t know it this counts…)</p>
<p>I really hope you can help, and that I have given enough information for you to help, I know I have asked many questions above… I have been stupid enough to play around making my site without putting in place a backup system first, so I would like to avoid reinstalling everything I’ve done…</p>
