When I enable CssJsCompress with the option to optimize CSS files It slows down everything and the template breaks. I have excluded the following css files (editor.css, template.ie7.css, template.css, template.ie6.css, general.css,jceutilities.css,style.css,style_ie6.css). Joomla Gzip is on and cache (Configuration) is on as well.

I ensured that it is just above System - cache in the hierarchy. I don't know what else to do.

Thanks for your quick response.

Yes, CssJsCompress don't apply to all templates and extensions.

Especially when the extensions and template css files have confilications.

Perhaps, you can only enable js compress.

Yes, for the first request, the plugin need combine all css files and js files, this will slow down the reponse, however for the second response, it will load from cache directly, which can improve the site's reponse greatly.
